Saving Downriver is a non-profit organization organized to put a lid on out-of-state trash. Saving Downriver’s website is designed to inform residents of Michigan about landfills throughout the state, the facts, dangers, and recent legislation designed to curb the importation of trash from other countries. Michigan is now known as the trash state with the cheapest prices on out-of-state trash and an overabundance of landfills, which are slowly running out of space. We are here to try to stop other countries such as Canada from sending us their garbage and to promote tighter legislation when it comes to the checking of out-of-state trash.
